Hi there!

I’m Cindy Bass, aka, the Wandering Weaver. The backstory behind the Wandering Weaver has been a long time in the making, but I’ll keep it brief.

I spent 30 plus years as a graphic artist in the decorated apparel industry. I had a great time designing art for companies/organizations like Harley-Davidson, The National Park Service, Universal Studios, Harrah’s Casinos, Vail and Aspen Resorts, US Pro Tour Challenge Cycling and SaraBella Fishing. But as much as I loved the art, I also found I loved the colors and textures of the fabrics I was designing that art for.

I guess some would say I’ve taken a step ‘backwards’. I’ve taken my experience as an artist and have begun the exploration of creating beautiful and interesting fabric at it’s source…the loom. I say ‘begun’ because every piece I weave leads me to a series of ‘what ifs’ and new ideas. As a hiker, biker, skier and fisher gal, I spend a lot of time outdoors and draw much of my design inspiration from nature. The cultures and land features of New Mexico and Colorado are incredible and each is inspiring in its own way.

Retirement has led me in different directions lately. I’ve rediscovered my interests in sculpture and painting as well as different types of weaving.

And sometimes I weave dishtowels - just because it’s fun!

So I guess you could say I am the Wandering Weaver/Sculptor/Painter…but that’s way too long.
