Scarf in a Day

Classes

Here's the scoop - I'm a traveling weaving teacher with 6 extremely portable Schacht Cricket rigid heddle looms and I love to share my passion for rigid heddle weaving.

We work out a date or dates for me to come to your location with my looms and teach a 5-6 hours class - scarf in a day or scarf in a day-and-a-half if that's more convenient. It's fairly fast paced. I come prepared with the student looms already warped (if you own a yarn shop, the yarn will be from your store, of course), but we'll walk through the warping process on a sample loom so everyone will get a hands-on warping experience. Then we'll sit down and have some fun weaving! Everyone goes home with an amazing hand made scarf and a potential new hobby.

I also do classes in weft faced weaving - the kind that’s used in placemats and mug rugs (coasters). They usually run about 4 hours.

I work with groups of 4-6 people and no experience is necessary. This is a great way to try weaving without the expense of investing in a  loom. And it's not just a lady thing - I've had classes that included guys and they had a great time as well.

Workshops

Already taken a class or need a refresher? Perhaps it's been awhile. Maybe you own a loom (or were given one) and aren't clear on the best way to warp it. I do workshops as well - anywhere from 3 hours to a full day on the rigid heddle weaving process of your choice.
